About Us
Welcome to the Illinois Homeschool Resource Center - a Christian homeschool resource center that equips families in the central Illinois area with supplies, community, and opportunities. Our mission is to provide a supportive and enriching environment for homeschooling families, offering a wide range of resources and programs to enhance the homeschooling experience.
How it all started….
The idea for the IL HRC sparked in November of 2024. In September 2025 we moved into a space inside the Zehr Community Library and continue to be open one day a week on Tuesdays. We’ve also enjoyed hosting events to benefit and support homeschool families.
Bookstore
Our used bookstore is stocked with over 2000 books at discounted prices! We saw a need in central Illinois for there to be a physical location that’s open year round for browsing and purchasing Homeschool curriculum and supplies. With everything being online, it’s refreshing to hold and flip through physical books without any pressure to act quickly.

Every month our calendar fills up with fun and exciting events.
Homeschool Kid’s Club: a Tuesday afternoon themed get together just for the kids!
Rooted Conversations: A time for moms to rest, connect, and discuss homeschool once a month.
Educational Experiences: As opportunities arise, we will host educational experiences, speakers, and field trips that are difficult to do at home.

The Vision

Soon we’ll begin carrying new books and curriculum - especially consumables - to help round out your homeschool shopping needs.

The ultimate vision is to have a building of our own to provide space for homeschool families, co-ops, and groups to meet.

One of the biggest reasons people don’t homeschool is because they don’t want to miss out on athletics. We dream of one day hosting a homeschool athletic program.
